South Tenerife Christian Fellowship "STCF’s new Treasurer"

STCF’s new Treasurer

"Meet STCF’s new Treasurer"

At the end of September 2008, Sandra and Tom Singleton laid down their responsibilities of the Church Treasurers. It is appropriate to express the sincere thanks of the Church and of all those of you who support the work here in Tenerife to Sandra and Tom for all their hard work for the Lord at STCF.

The Church had been praying for some time for someone else to take over the treasureship from October 2008.  Following the Lord's leading and having attended STCF during previous holiday visits, in June 2008 my wife Valerie, daughter Karen and myself moved to Tenerife on a permanent basis.
It was clear the Lord's hand was in this move as soon after I was asked to prayerfully consider taking over the treasureship from October.
My background is that of a Baptist Church upbringing with various responsibilities in the Church including youth work, deacon, treasurer and secretary.  Having recently retired from my own business it is good to know that we never retire in the work of the Lord's kingdom.
I look forward to getting to know you all over the coming years and will be glad to hear from you should you wish to make any donations to the Church.
Many of you will be aware of the 20/20 Vision of STCF for the expansion of the Lord's work here in Tenerife and so we have recently published an update to that for your information
Our last update asked for your prayers and practical support as we stepped out together in faith to raise the money to cover the cost of two recently purchased locales
.
We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU AND TO PRAISE GOD for answered prayer and for the generosity of His people.

The ten-year mortgage taken out on the two locales in October 2007 was for the first two years interest only.  Besides the monthly interest payments we were, in September 2008, able to pay off 40,000 Euros of the 130,000 Euros mortgage.
We are seeking to repay the remaining 90,000 Euros by September 2009, otherwise any outstanding debt will revert to a full repayment mortgage over the remaining 8 years.
Both locales are in use, not only by regular church goers but also by the wider community. We are mindful of the economic climate and realise, whilst cutbacks have to be made, we serve a great God and we believe 'He is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us' (Ephesians 3:20).
So again this year we would appreciate your continued prayers and practical support in helping us to clear this debt and we can give God all the glory and join together in praising Him.

May God bless you
